Given cooler temperatures we decide to try a section of the Highline Trail we wanted to hike for quite some time. What we didn’t expect is that cooler means temperatures in the 50s as a high and almost freezing at night while hiking a 16 mile there and back section of the trail and finding lots of caches. The second day we are barely moving so we restrict ourselves at looking for a few caches and the famous Payson diamonds recuperating a bit after the punishing day prior.

- Freezing in Tonto Village
For our Highline hike we stay two night in a cabin in Tonto Village which is quite cold especially given the near freezing conditions outside - On a deserted section of the Highline Trail
Today we explore a remote section of the Highline Trail that is visited only rarely and has been also rerouted sometimes recently - Looking for Payson Diamonds
We are quite tired and everything hurts after the previous day so today we take it easy looking for Payson diamonds followed by shopping and dinner
