We have some credit cards rewards that can only be redeemed at a few locations in Phoenix and they have to be used by the end of the year. In addition we have an anniversary coming up so these two combined lead us to decide on eating out at a fancy restaurant, not something we do usually. We settle on Geordie’s, a restaurant located in the historic Wrigley Mansion and we let them know that we also are going to celebrate an anniversary. Finding parking nearby is a bit difficult and we have to climb up a hill to get to the restaurant, glad it is not a hot day. Surprisingly there are two fancy restaurants here and of course we enter the wrong one first before being led through the huge mansion towards the right check in desk.

We have a bit of time to burn before they can sit us so we decide to explore a bit, the mansion exploration is part of the restaurant experience which is cool.

All restaurants are on the first floor but you can climb to the second floor also while exploring however as we do that we are called back to be seated, maybe later we can explore more.

The table we get is quite special with a great view which is impacted in the first minutes by the setting sun before becoming breathtaking. We order from the quite expensive menu and then it is time to enjoy the drinks and the view and relax.

The sunset is quite beautiful over the Phoenix skyline as we eat the famous Koji Hokkaido Milk Bread which is quite good and still warm.

And then while waiting for the entrees we decide to explore a bit more the upper level. There are a few rooms that you can enter but none of them are really that exciting or even with period furniture. At least we learn that Wrigley, the chewing gum magnate that owned this mansion, died here, something that we were not aware off.

There are also a few conference rooms, or at least that is what we assume given the huge tables and number of chairs. We walk from room to room with no one else exploring which makes this quite special.

Returning on the first floor we explore a bit also the autumn decorations, the whole mansion is covered in pumpkins and autumn flowers, quite beautiful.

The entrees are delicious and we take our time enjoying them before we also get dessert with a nice extra celebrating our anniversary.

We also receive a painted stone to celebrate our anniversary, it is not something that we expected so it is quite fun. And then it is time to descend to the car, in the now complete darkness from the nicely illuminated restaurant.

But before that we enjoy the views of the Phoenix skyline, the location is quite special with a great view of the downtown skyscrappers. The descent is uneventful and soon we are home after a great evening out.
