Dyffyn Ardudwy Burial Chamber

Even though we finished with the North Wales castles we still have one more stop planned along the way. It is really close to Harlech and it has a name that rolls of the tongue, Dyffyn Ardudwy Burial Chamber. Getting there and finding the sign it easy but finding parking is not. The first parking we find is in a school yard and that one is getting closed so we return to the main road and park just off it. The tombs are close to the road so we hope we can go in and out before there are any issues.

The trail to the tombs is short but very scenic. It follows a stone wall on one side with a green wall blocking views on the other side. After a couple minutes we see a gate ahead of us, we must have arrived at the tombs.

The tombs are in a field of stones, sooo many of them. In fact we assume they were brought in in more modern times to make the area look more scenic.

As we do not want to break our ankles we decide to check out only the bigger of the tombs. We navigate carefully the rocks and then take a look inside the tomb, nothing there, so we decide to return back to safe land and then to the car.

The car is still where we left it so on we go for hours, south, on country roads until we reach the Cardiff outskirts and navigate to our hotel.

The hotel is in what looks to be an old manor with parking available only further afield. So we have to carry our bags for quite a distance and on top of that there is a light rain which does not help. Checking in also takes a bit and then we have to go down a pair of stairs to our assigned rooms which are reasonably big, each of them having a patio outside.

This is no time to enjoy the patio though, it is almost 11 PM and we still need to have dinner so on we go to a nearby steakhouse. We are quite surprised that it is almost full but we find places to sit, then order, and then it is time to relax until the food gets here.

The food is quite good however we end dinner after 11:30 PM, quite late in the day, night really. We return back to the hotel and our room and soon are fast asleep after a really long day.
