After visiting multiple viewpoints along the coast on our way to the resort we have one more stop planned at the Rotui Juice Factory. It is quite a famous factory producing the juices that are sold at all supermarkets and quite a few rums too. But we wouldn’t have necessarily stopped if we wouldn’t have been early at the resort otherwise. Still we are surprised how well the tour is organized even with no actual humans being involved in it. You park your car follow the signs put on a sterile cap and then continue on into the factory following the informational signs.

There are no other people here, quite surprising given the number of cars outside as we follow the well marked tour route. It takes us on a suspended walkway above the factory which seems to be closed today. At least there is no production going on and there are no workers, a bit surprising, at least we can see the different machineries used for producing the juices.

There are quite a few informational signs along the way explaining the process of producing the juices and even some photos that appear to show some magical ceremony with pineapples but it actually shows how the juice is made.

There is also a section showing the rum barrels and how they are kept until the rum is ready to be shipped. It is quite interesting but we assume that the barrels on our floor are just for show as otherwise everyone would be able to test the rum when they do the tour.

At the end of the walkway we see the only workers on the floor, it seems that only the packing line is working today while the production line is stopped. Maybe too much was produced? And then we go to the shop do some tasting and even buy some juices that we consume during the next days. And then it is time to drive to the resort where we will spend the next three nights.
