After arriving on Moorea our first order of business is to get ourselves organized. So we want to stop somewhere to set up the GPS and confirm where we are going but the ring road in this stretch is quite busy so we have to continue driving until an opportunity to stop presents itself as a small side dirt road. We still have time until check in so we decide to stop along the way with the first stop being Toatea Lookout a famous one on the northeast coast. it has some nice views of the lagoon and the Sofitel Resort with its famous over the water bungalows extending into the shallow water.

Next stop is on the northern shore as we expect another official overlook, Paopao overlook, but none is forthcoming. So we just pull in an abandoned picnic area to enjoy the beautiful views. It might even have been the official overlook but now it is abandoned with coconuts floating by, quite fun.

There are some nice views towards the island interior with its rugged landscape being typical of how French Polynesia is depicted in advertisements. Not all islands are that way of course but Moorea is a poster island really and we enjoy our time as we slowly make our way towards the hotel. But we have one more stop planned on the way at Rotui Juice Factory the famous juice factory on the islands.
