After a short morning exploration of our accomodation, Jagdschloss Kranichstein, grounds we check out and then drive to the airport. Of course we have to buy gas right before returning the car but luckily the return is uneventful and then it is time to pass through all the airport security measures and make our way to the plane. There is still time left so we decide to actually go to a lounge first and see if there is some good food there as we are quite hungry at that point.
The lounge has reasonably good food and some interesting soda and refreshed and full we are ready for the flight. Where we are served again some food, not that good but edible enough.
This time we were flying during daytime and have an unique opportunity to see the glaciers over Greenland and they don’t disappoint. It looks really otherworldly, it would be quite cool to visit them some time.
In San Francisco we use a different lounge, for a Chinese airline, and the food is different than usual but still good.
There is an interesting exhibit along the way showing phones across the ages starting from some that we haven’t seen even in movies given how old they are.
Then the exhibit moves to more recent eras including some that we even remember, guess we really are that old. And also our country was using quite antiquated equipment.
And then there are some futuristic phones, embedded in purses, with codes and the famous videophones to imitate Star Trek but which never caught on.
And then it is time to lift off towards Phoenix, there are only a few hours left and we will be back home.
In the meantime it gets dark so when we land it is dark but the landing is uneventful and soon we are back home after a very exciting trip where we visited three different countries and met with lots of friends and family.
