After a full day of visiting Trier it is time to find a place for dinner and explore the city on the way back. Specifically we return back to the Central Square and take a few more photos before turning towards the Dom to at least see it close up even though our planned visit to it is tomorrow. And it is as impressive and huge as we remember, it seems like a medieval fortress more like an actual cathedral.

And then we take a slightly different route towards our chosen restaurant passing the appropriately named Bilderhouse (Image House) and the Dom complex on the way. And also stopping to see some shops as they start to close down and even buying some souvenirs.

Our chosen restaurant is the Kartoffel Kiste, a cozy potato restaurant. Which means that all products have potatoes in them and many times they are the main ingredient.

We order two specialties with one of them being the special Potato dumplings, which are really good but also quite unhealthy it would seem.

And then it is time to return back to our accomodation hopefully finding a supermarket on the way as we need provisions for breakfast and the next days. There are still lots of sights on the way, surprisingly how interesting the downtown area of Trier is.

We find an Aldi on the way, where the automated kiosks do not work so we have to wait for some time before finally being able to but our provisions and continue home. And on the way we pass the Karl Marx House which is where he was born and lived for one year afterwards before they moved to another house closer to Porta Nigra. And then we are home and after a nice and relaxing hot tub bath it is time to go to sleep as tomorrow we have another long day planned in Trier.
