Poland is a large country with a long history of both conquering and being conquered. As such it is full of interesting cities, historical sights and important locations. This starts with the capital city of Warsaw and the similarly famous city of Krakow with many other cities like Gdansk having their own claim to fame. It is also the site of Auschwitz and of many battles in both the first and second world war as well as prior wars. It is a country that we planned many times to visit but due to changing plans we always failed to actually follow through until 2026.
Our visit to Poland in 2026 is actually only a day trip to Poznan, one of the many beautiful cities in Poland that also has the advantage of being within a day trip distance from Berlin. We came away very impressed with the beautiful and special city even though the rain forced us to seek shelter multiple times during our visit. We cannot wait to visit it again sometime in the future!
