The very windy Longpan Park

We tried to reach Longpan Park the previous day but it was raining heavily so we retreated to the hotel. With the rain gone it is time to retry today even though it is in the opposite direction of the general direction of our drive. But it is only fiveteen minutes out so why not? When we get there we are happy we find place in the free parking space but are hit by the strong wind when we get out. It is much more stronger than we expected, even though reviews already mentioned this quite often.

It is not a long trail but it is well done, it would be easy for wheelchairs even to pass each other and get to the beautiful viewpoint. Of course they might be blown by the wind in the water, who knows?

The wind here is so strong that we struggle to stay in place and not be taken into the ocean ourselves. Luckily there are some depressions in the ground that we can hide in and talk to each other, no luck outside as the wind is howling all around us at tornado level strength, or so it feels.

We explore the shore a bit looking for Oriental Skylarks but with no luck and no way to hear anything we decide to retreat to the parking lot and maybe try a different, less windy, trail.

On the inland side of the parking lot we get more lucky and find a few Oriental Skylarks but they are quite far away and barely visible unfortunately. Happy we decide to return to the car and now it is time to start on our way back towards Tainan.

But first we pass for the last time through Kenting where we spend two relaxing days and stop at the major lake here, Long Luan Lake to look for waterbirds that we might have missed till now.
