Two nights in an AirBnB in Leipzig

Staying close to Leipzig downtown turned more of a challenge than we expected when preparing the trip. The issue was that there were no hotels with parking close to the city center and even AirBnBs were quite few. In the end we chose one that seemed reasonable and today we will check if our estimation was correct. We arrive relatively late in the evening and first we have to leave our luggage in the AirBnB before driving to the parking that is free but at a distance. Finally we make it but it was not easy and when leaving we have to do it again. The AirBnB is in an industrial looking building but it has a nice courtyard that we enjoy even though being on the ground floor we cannot leave to door open all the time.

Inside it is quite basic, there is a long corridor that also holds the kitchen leading to the living room which is spacious enough with a good table and then opens into the courtyard.

The bedroom is separated by basically a curtain with no way to close it off from the living room. That is no issue now but if there would be two families it could have become one. The bathroom is spacious and even has a bathtub which is a plus for us.

In addition we also have a washing machine a plus after this many weeks in Europe and we use it quite often to clean our accumulated laundry.

Nearby we are supposed to have a supermarket but it seems to have closed recently so we have to explore the area for a while to find a place to buy provisions for the next days.

In the end we find one at a similar distance but in the other direction unfortunately and then return to the AirBnB discovering that we are actually located next to the central firefighter station, hopefully no fires break out as we won’t be able to sleep all night (and no there are no fires or we do not hear the cars from the AirBnB). And next it is time to explore Leipzig, we have a full day to visit the downtown area of this famous city.
