It is late afternoon when we exit again outside after our hike earlier at Blue Pool Arch. This time we can hike directly from the AirBnB following an access trail that shadows the airport fence first before arriving at the hiking area. There are some nice views already from the airport fence and we take them in before descending towards the Rim Trail.

The area is crisscrossed by trails and as we descend we switch from one to the other enjoying the views and keeping the direction of the Rim where we expect the Rim trail to be. On the way we find a rock built tank, it is quite a work of art really.

The two constants in our descent is the palace on top of a hill behind us and the lake in front of us. That house really has some great views…

Arriving at the Rim Trail we take it for a short distance before we intend to close the loop with a climb towards a nearby overlook. It is getting already getting dark, and more importantly cold so we look forward to the ascent.

The ascent is tiring especially after our previous hikes but it makes us forget about the cold. We arrive at the Grandview Overlook in almost complete darkness and then use city streets to arrive back at the AirBnB after about an one mile hike, nothing too intensive but still fun.

For dinner we choose a Japanese restaurant we noticed the previous day. The food takes a bit to arrive but it is warm and good especially the Udon soup. And then we return to the AirBnB to pack and prepare for next day when we have to leave and return home, but not before exploring the area even more in the morning and afternoon.
