Today we eat breakfast at the AirBnB and then it is time to check out as the check out time is an early 10 AM. The first goal for today is nearby, the Hanging Garden Trail, a short and free trail that accesses a special natural area. We have passed it many times but were never able to actually do it till today.
The trail starts and is mostly level and well defined as it passes through the beautiful area. The weather is perfect for the hike today, even a bit cold, while usually we would complain of the heat.
As we approach the Hanging Gardens there are some nice views of Lake Powell and the Red Rock Country as well as of red mountains nearby.
Soon we arrive at the Hanging Gardens which are as the name implies a patch of green hanging from the wall of a seep. It is especially special for us as it has even some orchids, a rarity for Arizona.
We spend some time exploring and just taking in the verdant patch as we are the only people here for some time.
As the next group arrives it is time to return to the car and then to leave Page, back towards Lee’s Ferry where we plan to spend the rest of the time before returning home.
