We are currently based in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area and working full time which unfortunately restricts our ability to travel as much as we like. Luckily our current workplaces have generous vacation policies allowing us to opportunity to do multiple longer trips per year even though the choice of destinations has been greatly reduced in the last years due to Covid restrictions. We are also trying to explore Arizona on short one day getaways during the weekend, it is quite surprising how many attractions the state holds, at least for us.
We are not professional photographers and didn’t even have a great camera for quite some time but do enjoy taking photos as we travel and add them liberally to our posts. While the photos may not be professional grade we think they add an additional flavor to any block of text – a picture is worth a thousands words and all that.
Our trips are geared towards our interests which while varied are primarily nature watching, hiking, ancient history, art and local cuisine. We are quite into Geocaching which allows us to find unique places to visit on longer trips and gives us some goals for the weekend getaways. We also use iNaturalist to document our nature sightings as we go, it is a very friendly site that allows experts (and their own proprietary AI) to identify what we see.
