Virginia, right next to Washington is a state that has an interesting mix of history and nature. The premier nature destination is Shenandoah National Park, where you can still see bears and walk on the Appalachian Trail and from a historical point there are battlefields from Civil War, old towns and George Washigton’s Mount Vernon. We have Virginia briefly twice, once to see the Shenandoah National Park, a magical place, and once while making our way to Maryland and a couple states further north.
