Italy is a country famous for its archaeological sites, beautiful medieval cities with famous buildings and churches and some splendid natural sites. It spawned one of the most well known empires in Antiquity that in its heyday made the Mediterranean sea an internal sea and conquered most of Europe and parts of Asia and Africa. It is also one of the most visited countries in the world and we always look forward to visiting it even though the major sites can get quite crowded.
We visited Italy two times, once Rome for a few days with family and more recently Milan for three full days enjoying the cultural sites and beautiful architecture.
