Los Alamos is the birthplace of the atomic bomb however we spent less than we intended in the area due to our tire issues exploring mostly the Valle Grande
We take a backroad towards Albuquerque stopping at Mogollon Ghost Town and Bear Wallow Lookout before disaster strikes
We start the day with a surprisingly interesting one mile trail along the historic 1890s mining suspended walkway
The first day we leave late so we drive to a relatively small peak in a quiet area to camp for the night
On this trip we explored the Great Western Trail near Phoenix, a Payson viewpoint and an area near Pine that led to an exciting bear encounter
Geocaching day finding difficult caches along the way on Orme Road and then some of the world renowned Raven caches in Prescott area
Trip to explore the Kanab Area including Lick Wash with stops along the way on the Arizona side at T Bar Ranch and a petroglyph site
On the way back we stop by Eagle Sink a lesser known but impressive limestone sinkhole before taking the scenic route home
Besides visiting Kanab for a short while we spend most of the day on Lick Wash Trail a beautiful trail through a slot canyon ending at the historic LeFevre cabin on No Man’s Mesa
