Kairakuen Garden a top 3 landscape garden in Japan was a great place to spend the afternoon of our first day in the country
After renting the car we make a short stop to explore the Pit Dwellings near Boso which are free to visit but cannot be entered
Our first stop is the huge Narita Temple close to our hotel which is great introduction to the traditions related to the temples of Japan
After a long flight we arrive in the late afternoon in Narita where we get acquainted with Japan buying our first supermarket items and exploring our first hotel room
For a short hike today we decide on a temporary trail to some cool looking petroglyphs in the Verrado neighborhood
Today we explore a section of the Black Canyon Trail and an interesting ruin close by that overlooks the interstate
Today we finally get to ride a horse something we wanted to do since we moved to Arizona
The MLK weekend is spent in New Mexico looking for geese and cranes and seeing interesting rock formations and historic towns
Last stop for our trip is at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks NM a fascinating area with beautiful formations that is worth visiting
