Namibia

We remember Namibia more from news about the war against South Africa so we are surprised when it is one of the first targets that appears for a safari in Africa. It is now actually a stable democracy and one of the best countries for a safari with many National Parks including the crown jewel of Etosha. It also has a few historic German towns to visit, the Skeleton Coast, the Kalahari desert and even some petroglyphs. And of course many typical animals and birds all for seeing.

Our only visit to Namibia is part of an almost three week self drive safari in Namibia and South Africa taking in the major sites and National Parks. It is a beautiful and safe country and worth as a beginner safari, it certainly was for us.
