Today we rent a car and it is time to explore a few states and find caches in all of them starting with Virginia which is closest to the airport. We decide on a park that sounds nice, Potomac Overlook Regional Park. As we arrive we find out to our surprise that the overlook proper is closed, dismantled in fact, due to overgrowth. It is surprising they were willing to dismantle the overlook instead of cutting the overgrowth but what do we know.
We start on the trail exploring for caches and just enjoying the great weather and the start of the fall colors.
We like especially the more quiet narrow trails taking us through the forest where we look for birds or any animals but none are found. At least we find the caches easily.
And then it is time to return towards the car we have a lot more stops planned today and three more states to visit so on we go.
