As it is getting dark we make our way to the last stop for the day the Port au Choix National Historic Site. We get there right after the sun sets but there is still light so we hurry towards the lighthouse. There are cars stopped and we do not know why so we try to pass and then we notice the pack of foxes on the side of the road. They are playing around so after taking photos and observing them for a while we have to be very careful as we move on towards the lighthouse at the end of the road.
We are the only people at the end of the road and it is quite a scenic location with the lighthouse stark against the disappearing sunlight. We really enjoy the views and the fact that the rain finally ended and it is a bit warmer if anything.
Next to the lighthouse is a Dorset Paleo-Eskimo camp with more than 15 houses which was used seasonally as a harp seal hunting site and as dwelling site.
We then return to find a cache near the lighthouse. As the night falls the views are quite beautiful with the lighthouse light turning and the moon right next to it shining. We stay for a while just enjoying the moment before returning to the car.
We stop at a couple more sites in the nearby city including a burial ground downtown but then it is time to leave for the two hour drive back to Rocky Harbour and our AirBnB. On the way we are extra careful as we meet another moose but we make it safely and tired go to sleep, tomorrow is the last full day in Canada.
