We had a lot of plans today on what to visit and when but of course we went over at a few stops so we rearranged the attractions so we can see as much as possible. That implies seeing Tombstone in the evening after dark, we assume that there will be some stores open and that it might be nicely illuminated for the holidays. As we reach the main street after parking we are quite surprised that there are very few people around, it feels a bit deserted.
We soon learn why, all the stores are closed and only a few select bars and restaurants are open.
Anything that is open is quite busy as the few people on the streets congregate in front of them to enter and escape the cold. We however walk from store to store looking at the displays and just window shopping really.
We walk the main street from one end to the other and then walk one block to the Old Courthouse which is a state historic park, and closed already of course.
We then return to the carpark passing the busiest saloon on the block which has a huge line outside, in the cold, where are few people are dressed in period appropriate clothing, fun. We then retreat to the warmth of the car and return back to our AirBnB about one hour ago, celebrate New Year on NY time so we can go to sleep earlier as tomorrow we have a long day planned and then go to sleep being woken only by the fireworks at midnight Arizona time.
