Wine Tasting at Dos Cabezas

The second winery of our trip is Dos Cabezas Winery. It is probably the most commercial of the wineries we have been to with a hotel nearby and even a pizzeria inside, which is quite welcome.

But first we have to get a table which is difficult only inasmuch the servers seem to ignore us at first and then take their time to bring us the menu for the pizza and the tasting.

The wines here are leaning heavily towards red wines and after selecting the required six wines we sit back and wait for them and the ordered pizza.

We are already three wines in the tasting before the pizza arrives but at least it is good and filling. It takes a long time for the last wine to arrive and then it is time to run back to the winery from the previous day to buy the dessert wines we liked.

We arrive in time to buy the dessert wines and then continue to Elgin Winery from where we bought wines before and were impressed. Here we buy a few more bottles and then we are on our way to see the cranes at Whitewater Draw.

It is a long way but at least we see a few pronghorn antelopes along the road, so it is an exciting trip at least and we arrive at Whitewater Draw with an hour to spare before sunset.
