From the Guinness brewery we are drifting back towards the central area passing the impressive Christ Church Cathedral. We spend some time exploring it from the outside but because it adheres to the principle of pay for entry, which we find weird for churches, we decide not to enter.
At this point we are famished so we decide to have a special lunch, as it is our last one in Ireland. The restaurant that we choose has a good selection including lamb stew and the food looks good while unfortunately it does not taste that great.
From here we continue our visit through the downtown area passing also some areas we visited before just to see how different they are in the sun.
As it is getting late afternoon we return to the pedestrian area and explore the many shops until it is closing time. And then we return to the hotel and say our goodbyes as one of us is returning to Phoenix while the other one is returning with the relatives to Romania for a few more days of vacation.
Overall Ireland certainly didn’t disappoint us with great historical places and beautiful landscapes even though we would have liked a bit less rain. We found the less publicized and visited places to be the most impressive with highlights being the Holy Island and the Burren area. Driving was mostly ok after getting used to the narrower roads and the left side driving and gave us much needed flexibility outside of Dublin.
