From Carrowmore we continue south towards Ballinafad Castle taking it slowly and enjoying the drive. One of the things that impressed us throughout Ireland is that the horses are quite placid and friendly, always looking for handouts. And when it is not raining or foggy, which is rarely, the views are quite great.
On our way south we stop for a few minutes at Ballinafad Castle. It is quite impressive looking as expected of a castle protecting an important trade route through the mountains.
