To Laughlin via Quartzsite and Lake Havasu

This week we have taken an extra two days off to explore again Nevada, this time up to Las Vegas. As we have been to Laughlin recently we decide to explore a slightly different way to Nevada, through Quartzsite and Lake Havasu City. Our first stop is in Quartzsite, to visit Celia’s Garden an interesting oasis in this small busy town.

It has quite a few interesting small touches that we enjoy, the miniature village, the rabbit assembly and also quite a few interesting real birds including Gilded Flickers and Desert Wrens.

We then explore a few close by dirt roads that are full of caches and find quite a few of them near the road.

With the brittlebush in flower adding color to the landscape and the mountains in the distance we almost lose track of time until we remember, we also want to visit Lake Havasu on the way.

We arrive before sunset and have time to walk a bit along the lakeshore and enjoy the views and also find a couple caches. The sun is setting much too early for us and there is nothing left to do than to drive to Laughlin where we will spend the first night.
