Last stop of the day is at Aphrodite’s Baths. We are a bit confused about the parking but then we finally find the right spot and are on our way to the baths, with a short stop of enjoying the great views of the ocean. And one more stop to buy ice cream and some iced coffee as it is quite hot today.
There are lots of birds here, many of them relatively common but still quite fun to see. We really like to see the Great Tits flitting through the trees and the Wood-Pigeons, which are everywhere but the trees.
Aphrodite’s Baths are quite close to the parking lot and right after the Botanical Gardens. They are quite a popular destination with lots of people trying to take photos with the Bath where Aphrodite was seen by Adonis, and the rest is history, mythological history that is.
We continue on the trail and soon it starts climbing and climbing with lots of stairs. We decide to continue to the first cache on the trail only as it is quite late in the day, and we are tired after the long day.
Here we see again a Sardinian Warbler, and we have even better views that previously. However we are most excited about our first Eastern Olivaceous Warbler which allows us some nice views before moving on.
Before returning we enjoy the great views near the cache and we even meet another couple of cachers – we beat them at finding the cache though!
The restaurant we have chosen is the one near the parking lot so we don’t have to drive to another location. It is also Sunday so many are closed and we at least know this one is open. The theme is fish but we are hoping to also find something more traditional.
In the end we choose a fish dish, swordfish which wasn’t that good, and moussaka, which is something more traditional and reasonably good but not exceptional. And then we drive back to Paphos, it is already dark outside so it is an interesting drive but we make it back safely and fall asleep almost immediately.
