First hours in Cyprus

From London we fly over the Europe including the Alps turning then south towards Cyprus. We fly British Airways but there is no service on the flight even though it is five hours long. Luckily we are still full from the lounge in the morning and are not hungry on the plane but still we are are happy when we start to fly over the Cyprus fields descending towards the Paphos airport.

The airport is one of those that require you to take a bus from the terminal to the tarmac. It takes a long time to load but at least entering the country is easy enough. Getting the car is a bit more difficult as they try to upsell everything and even want us to pay in advance for the gas and then “conveniently” we just have to bring it empty. We argue for a while and in the end they agree that if we bring it full they will return the charge.

We find the Airbnb easily enough as we placed a pin in google maps and the check in instructions are easy to follow and soon we are in. Even though supposedly there is parking the owner recommends to park on the street and we have no issues for the two nights we stayed here. The Airbnb is a two story townhouse and we spent the next few minutes exploring al the different rooms and nooks.

The kitchen is also ok and we also receive as a welcome gift water, beer and some fruit, nice! And outside the kitchen door is the welcoming committee of cats, between 3 and 5 are guarding the exit so we cannot go outside to eat.

We go outside through the main door however to buy some groceries from a nearby open supermarket. We but enough for the two days we are staying here and then return to eat some snacks for dinner and then go to sleep as tomorrow is the first full day of exploring Cyprus.
