Today our goal is the Highline Trail, we want to hike a portion of it and find a few caches along it. Especially we want to escape the Phoenix heat so being at a high altitude would help. On the way we stop at Deer Creek Trailhead to explore the trailhead and find a couple caches before another stop near Payson to find one more cache and enjoy a great view of the city.
We start from the 260 Trailhead and the hike is quite level with some reasonably good views. We make good time along the trail with a lot of it lost while we search for caches that today seem to hide from us.
At least we find lots of flowers along the way. It seems early to us but it is quite enjoyable to view them all around us as we make our way along the trail. Unfortunately it is getting dark much too soon so we make our way back to the car and then back to Phoenix after a relaxing day out.
