On the way from Bilbor to Tusnad

After a night in Bilbor we wake up to a beautiful day. We have time to explore the area a bit while preparing breakfast but otherwise we are in a relative hurry as we have a lot to see on the way and a long drive ahead of us.

We always enjoy Bilbor and the area around but it is quite a bit out of the way. While this makes it scenic it also makes it remote whenever we have to plan for getting there.

And now it is time to go south passing villages and cities along the way with some impressive churches and even synagogues. We are passing through the heartland of the Szekely minority so the language primarily spoken is Hungarian, not that we stop that much along the way.

The one stop that we make is in Baile Tusnad, a spa resort town that is still hanging on even though it is past its heyday. The major attraction here are the bears but we do not see any unfortunately. However at least we get a bear alert, yay.

What we do get is a langos, a specialty of Transylvania and especially of the Hungarian minority. It is very good and we enjoy it before moving on south as we have to reach Bran Castle, our major destination, before closing.
