As we return to Annecy to hopefully meet our friends we make one more stop at the enticingly named Mysterious Waterfall. Surprisingly there is a large parking lot that is empty close by and soon we are on our way climbing through the heat towards the waterfall. There are some nice views of the village and the Alps as we take many breaks on our climb towards the waterfall.

Luckily after a while the trail starts to descend through a forest and the heat becomes more tolerable. Except that of course we know that we have to come back up afterwards.

There are surprisingly many people at the waterfall overlook and we can try to reposition ourselves for better photos but in the end all of them have at least some vegetation on the way.

Returning we catch our breath near a meadow on the way, looking for some last birds before returning to lower altitudes.

And we see some carrion crows following a tractor, quite common, but as we decide to move on we see something more worthwhile flying around a beautiful Red Kite looking for a snack. And then we are back at the car, it is time to drive to Annecy and meet our friends.
