After Ambierle we drive south towards the toll road to Lyon but we have two more stops planned. The first one is Pet d’Ane the largest meander of Loire. It is accesible via a very narrow one lane road that we follow till the large dirt parking lot. From here according to the map it is a short hop to the overlook via a nature trail.

The view is quite beautiful from the overlook and we enjoy it for some time before retreating to a bench in the shade. Here we bring some provisions from our car and have a nice picnic for half an hour before moving on.

Next we drive to Château de la Roche on narrow roads passing eagles and cattle egrets as well as lots of cattle. And then we pass the Loire and soon arrive at the beautiful Chateau, our final major stop today.
