A night in Bharatpur, more complex than it should be

After the Chand Baori Step Well we make our way towards Bharatpur a large city where it is surprisingly difficult to find lodging online. We booked one that they cancelled from their side, we booked another one that requested us a bank deposit, no thank you, next one told us that only smoking rooms are available and really we have only two choices left, we really hope that the hotel exists at least at this point.

And yes, it does exist! The reception seems not to be used with foreign visitors but at least they know English and we can check in with a bit of back and forth. The room is decent and we even have a balcony as we requested.

We are quite hungry and would like dinner but the restaurant service starts only later so we spend some time enjoying the balcony and just relaxing in the room before starting on a food finding expedition.

The hotel is surprisingly large after the difficulty we had to find even one reasonably good hotel. The corridors go on and on and it is easy to get lost especially as they have at least three stairwells.

The restaurant however is not used by anyone, maybe it is too early? We are the only people and are served from a menu from which as usually only one or two items shown are available. But the food is suprisingly good and with the dessert we are quite full and ready to retire for the night as tomorrow we have the most exhausting day planned of walking basically the full day through the bird sanctuary.
