Today we have a very busy day planned mostly near the Amber Palace. But first we have to eat breakfast, and not any breakfast but a handmade breakfast. The hotel host is offering as food made by his wife as breakfast as they do not have an official restaurant. But they have an official dining room with some great views over the surrounding forts.
Of course we can look also to the sides over the surrounding buildings which are full of junk, some of which looks quite interesting like lots and lots of tuk-tuks. And then our breakfast arrives, it is aloo paratha one of our preferred Indian dishes as it has no onions and it is quite good especially with chutney. Or at least that is what we assume the condiments are.
Then it is time to be picked up by our driver and drive carefully through the crowded streets of Jaipur exiting the center area through the northern gate towards Amber.
Closing in on Amber we see the classic views of Amber and Jaigarh Fort and meet our first elephants sharing the road with us and going the same direction.
Before entering the fort we want to explore the nearby stepwell first, it is quite a scenic one with the fort and a temple in the background.
It is not a deep stepwell but we really like it as it is easy to walk around it and there are no people that want to accost us.
It is also quite beautiful to look at with the symmetrical layout of stairs. You cannot descend to the water, that is forbidden at all stepwells we have visited in India but you can admire it from the rim. And then it is time to go back to the car to drive to Amber Fort our major goal for the day.
