We leave from Phoenix in the early evening on an overnight flight to London. The plan is to stay a night in London afterwards and then continue to Malta to meet with one part of the family and then after about a week return to the UK to visit Wales ending the trip in London. For once there are no issues with the plane, it leaves at the expected time which is great for a change. Dinner is ok, it seems that the quality is worse every time we fly but maybe we just got used to better food :).
The breakfast is a little better especially after sleeping for a few hours and then we are in London. Weather was supposed to be rainy but it is reasonably ok when we land and then taxi for what seems to be hours.
To get to the immigration area we find out that we have to take a train which is very very busy or walk a long way. We have nothing pressing so we choose to walk for about 30 minutes until we get to the area where immigration is located. Passing the border is easy and soon we are in the UK.
The hotel we choose is connected to the terminal, we don’t even have to exit outside to get to it. It is also a relatively short walk and easy check in and soon we are in the room. It is a typical hotel but quite expensive given the location. Still we wanted to be close to the airport as we leave tomorrow at noon and didn’t want any issues reaching the airport from the hotel.
In the evening we explore the hotel a bit and then go to eat at the hotel restaurant, one of them. We expect it to be full but there are enough places to sit and the menu looks interesting so we decide to order.
The food is unexpectedly good especially for a hotel airport and full we return to the room and fall asleep almost immediately after a really long day.
