Given the rain we decide to go to Kapaa where at least we can hide from the rain inside the stores as we are forced to do a couple of times. As the rain passes we buy some traditional food from Saimin Dojo to eat for dinner and go to the room to pack as tomorrow we will leave very early in the morning, if the taxi comes.
We eat the food on the balcony and it is quite good and then it is time to pack. As our rental car agency is closed in the morning we take the car back this evening and return via taxi. We get also this taxis number to call in case ours doesn’t come in the morning but it arrives as booked, we are really happy about that.
It is a short drive to the airport and then we are ready to leave this beautiful island, quite tired, limping a bit and carrying lots of muddy clothes but overall happy.
There are no surprises with the takeoff and we have one more look of the island before clouds hide everything and we doze off for the rest of the flight.
This time we have a stopover in Oakland Airport that we explore for a couple hours and buy some lunch before continuing to Phoenix. Overall it was a great vacation as it always is in Hawaii, can’t wait to return to a different island next time!
