And then it is culture time as we make the short drive to the “Art Capital of Kauai”, Hanapepe. But before visiting the galleries we first have to see the famous Hanapepe Swinging Bridge, it is quite an exciting crossing given that another group behind us is jumping on the bridge for whatever reason.
We walk a bit on the other side which is more residential and quite scenic before finally deciding to return to the main street and the famous galleries.
There are also some interesting birds on and near the river, the most special one being a Hawaiian Gallinule.
Back in the downtown area we enter in a few galleries and even buy some souvenirs while enjoying the artwork.
The town itself is well preserved from its heyday and the buildings can be quite interesting to see and read about as almost every one has an interpretative panel in front of it.
