The last stop for today is at Salt Pond Beach. It has a huge parking lot with relatively few cars this afternoon. However as expected on Kauai there are lots of chicken and zebra doves in the parking lot.
We bask in the sun a bit near the shore before entering the water and doing some snorkeling. There are quite a few fish around especially in the rocky areas and we enjoy watching them until the sun starts to set and it gets too cold so we have to retreat back to the car.
On the way back we stop at a shopping mall to buy something to eat. We also wanted to see closer a construction that baffled us as we passed repeatedly under it – a pedestrian bridge that seems to never have been finished. Or was it destroyed at some point? Even from close up we can’t be sure. We also find some funny ear plugs in a shop – designed fpr those sensitive to the Serenading Chickens (like us).
We buy our dinner from a Japanese restaurant, Kauai Ramen, some ramen which is quite good and full we relax for a while before going to bed.
