Sleeping in the second bedroom we are slightly more protected from the chicken that climb on the roof but not so much from those that sing in the morning. We wake up quite early with their help and it is time to prepare breakfast using the provisions we bought yesterday. While preparing and eating we keep an eye out for birds, the first one that passes is the very serious looking resident Muscovy Duck.
We also see our “alarm clock” walking around or at least one of them. The chickens are quite confident until we approach them and then they run around like crazy which is a bit fun.
Today we start our day with a stop in Waimea Town. It is a small town with a few restaurants most of which aren’t open at any time that we are in town.
There are also a couple of gift shops that we visit and even buy a red dirt t-shirt just for fun before continuing on.
Before leaving Waimea Town we also visit the Waimea Pier. It is a nice location however there are quite a few homeless people around so we do not feel 100% safe and after a brief walk around the site we continue on.
