Exploring the Amerind Museum

In the afternoon we drive south from the Dragoon Mountains to the Amerind Museum. It is our backup plan if it is too hot outside, which it is so on we go. The campus is larger than we expected so we pay our entrance fee and it is time to explore the buildings.

Unfortunately we cannot take photos inside but it is a larger than expected museum, with some special and interesting exhibits. Afterwards we explore the trails a bit before returning back to the cool car.

There are quite a few birds and animals around the campus and some are quite tame like the deer which seem to be fenced it. But it is an illusion they can get out, they just don’t want to most of the time.

Next to the museum are some interesting sculptures of dinosaurs and horses in various staged poses on a ranch that can be visited. So of course we stop to take a look, it is quite fun!

Some of the sculptures are quite funnily staged including the dinosaurs eating grass. They are quite interesting and we explore for a while before going to a store to buy provisions and then returning to explore our compound in the evening.
