This extended weekend we plan a visit to the Flagstaff area to escape the Phoenix heat. On the way we stop to visit a few beautiful canyons and then on the next rest day explore a famous lava tube while finding lots of caches throughout our visit especially while following the Saturn pattern southwest of Flagstaff.

    First major stop today is at Foxboro Lake Dam which seems abandoned and there is no lake around but still it looks quite impressive

    Next we stop at the Bar M Canyon a beautiful canyon near Munds Park before finding a place to camp northwest of Flagstaff
  • Escaping the rain in the Lava River Cave
    The major goal today and of the trip is the Lava River Cave a collapsed lava tube in the Coconino National Forest that can be explored at your own leisure
  • Exploring the Saturn pattern near Flagstaff
    For the evening and the next day we find a few more caches in the area around Flagstaff with a focus on Saturn an interesting pattern created out of caches
