From the Turku Castle we return back to Turku downtown following the Aura River when we notice something interesting on the shore. There are multiple ships in a row, all historical looking and soon we notice they are part of a museum, the Forum Marinum. We don’t have time to visit the museum proper but we might be able just to see the ships from outside. Or amphibious patrol vehicles on the shore from up close …
There are both older ships and newer military ships and they are quite interesting to view, from the shore at least.
The military ships are quite impressive, in fact they are so defended that we barely can understand how they can be defeated. Everything is protected by thick steel including the gunners, quite scary. And then after our short visit we continue back to the downtown area to visit as tomorrow it is supposed to rain quite a bit.
