The White Mountains are far enough from Phoenix that we usually need to spend an extended weekend when visiting. And this is what we do this weekend splitting the nights into one night in a hotel and another camping in the mountains. This trip we focus more on the area north of route 260 between Pinetop-Lakeside and Eager-Springerville stopping at historic locations and natural wonders.

- Finding sinkholes and exploring the Rim Road
We start our trip to the White Mountains by exploring an area of the Rim we rarely visit before overnighting in Pinetop-Lakeside - On and around the Land of the Pioneers trail
Today we explore the area east of Pinetop-Lakeside with a focus on the Land of Pioneers trail and the many remains from the settlers time in this area - Camping and visiting around Greens Peak
After a nice night in our makeshift camp we explore the area around Greens Peak driving to the top and reaching the nearby Carnero lake afterwards
