From Briancon we go back up into the high Alps as we make our way towards Chambery. We climb and climb and soon we are back in the alpine meadows, watching snow clinging stubbornly unto the mountains.

The road is again quite beautiful and with few other cars on the road we can enjoy the views at almost every belvedere point along the way.

Of course the road is also quite windy with lots of switchbacks. We are happy that our relatives are in better condition than the day before, or at least are buoyed by knowing that this is the last stretch in the Alps.

There are few human made structures along the way, excluding the road of course. Most of them are military installations, past or present, or related to the road like tunnels and bridges.

And then we start descending slowly and start passing through mountain villages as we make our way downwards and then into Chambery late afternoon.
