We then drive towards the Burren National Park where we plan to spend the rest of the day, weather permitting. On the way we stop at Leamaneh Castle Ruins for a short visit before continuing on admiring the stone walls which are very common in this area.
The first attraction in the Burren (rocky place) area where we stop for a longer time is the Poulnabrone Dolmen. It is quite a scenic site with some beautiful views of the dolmen in the middle of the Burren.
From here we stop at multiple trailheads trying to avoif the rain. The Burren itself is quite impressive with the blocks of limestone stretching as far as the eyes can see.
As the evening approaches the rain stops so we decide to hike a bit longer on some nice trails through the Irish countryside.
The trail leads both through vegetation and through the Burren with some spectacular views.
As it is getting dark it is time to return back towards the car enjoying the beautiful sunset and the receding clouds, maybe tomorrow will be a day without rain? We arrive at 10:30PM at the hotel and we are quite tired after the long day so after eating a quick dinner we are fast asleep.
