Afternoon in the National Museum ending at St. Stephen’s Green Park

After exploring the north side of Liffey and especially O’Connell Street we pass the O’Connell Bridge to the south side of the River Liffey. Here there are quite a few pedestrian streets that we explore as we make our way to the next sights.

We soon pass the Parliament House, a deceptively named building as it now houses the Bank of Ireland. It is an interesting, roundish building that we encircle before continuing on.

The major attraction for the day for us is the archaeological section of the National Museum of Ireland. Here we are quite impressed by the bog bodies as well as the treasure room. Here we see the famous Tara Brooch as well as many other beautiful artifacts.

Afterwards we wander to St Stephen’s Green Park. It is a nice park but being in downtown Dublin and today being a nice day for walking means that it is very full of people tourists and locals alike.

The wildlife is quite against this with gulls loudly proclaiming their territories and aggresively moving towards us when trying to approach them. However we escape them safely and then return to the hotel for a good night rest.
