Grapevine Canyon Petroglyphs

Our first stop is nearby, Grapevine Canyon. Here we want to see the famous petroglyph that were even listed in the United States National Register of Historic Places. It is a short and easy hike to the main panel at the entrance of the canyon and after enjoying the petroglyphs and trying to understand their meaning we return to the car.

We then stop a bit on the other side of the Colorado River and visit a historic cemetery, Hardyville Cemetery now located in Bullhead City. It is the only thing that remains from the thriving community of Hardyville, a steamboat port and county seat of Mojave County. And then we go west of Searchlight for a few hours of caching along the dirt roads, there are a lot of caches here and we enjoy the time out in nature.
