Spur Cross Ranch is an area we enjoy to hike in with the only problem being that it closes relatively fast so we have to be careful to be back at the car before sunset. Today we have a loop hike planned to find a few caches in the area.
There are quite a few dry washes in the area but the major attraction is the year round flowing Cave Creek.
It is larger than we expected, luckily there are strategically placed wooden bridges that we can use to avoid wading through the water.
There are some great views as we follow the trail along the creek especially where the creek flows through a small canyon.
We then loop around through the beautiful desert landscape with the only water on this stretch being a cow water reservoir.
The views as we make our way back to the parking lot are quite impressive and we decide to return to this area as soon as we can to further explore the many trails.
